During this week, participants will

  • read selected articles on the assigned topic 
  • participate in a synchronous and asynchronous online discussion on NNEST mentoring practices and 

 

 

Invited guest speaker: Valerie Jakar, Ph.D.

Topic: Mentoring and being mentored  as  teachers of English:  NNEST’s effective roles  and practices

 

In this session, the speaker, a specialist in professional development for teachers of ESOL,  will present some basic tenets of what it means to be a mentor in the English teaching  field.  With the assistance of participants’ contributions, she will discuss   the problems and the merits  of   NNEST’s roles in the mentoring process – as mentors and as mentees.
